Notes from the developer.

I'm an IB Diploma student in Istanbul, and I sit my own exams in May 2028. When I started the IB, I went looking for practice questions. The good ones cost money. Some friends at other schools got mock papers from their teachers; others got nothing.

So I started building what I wanted: a note for every topic, questions that explain every answer, mock papers and a plan that runs to the exam. I've worked on it since 4 September 2026, most evenings and weekends.

Look at what students are actually sold. A set of notes. A bank of questions. A few mock papers. None of it is hard to make any more: I make all of it for about US$50 a month. Yet it comes as a subscription, per subject, per month, charged to teenagers with no income of their own, or to parents who are told their child will fall behind without it.

That is the business. Not teaching, but fear. Sale countdowns that never seem to end. "Only a few places left." "Everyone in your year is already using it." The answers you need the night before the exam, locked behind a premium tier. Every one of those is built to make a student afraid, and not one of them teaches anything.

Then comes the proof: "our users achieve higher". Of course they do. The students who pay those prices are the ones already committed to the IB, already supported, already likely to do well. Put them next to everyone else and you have measured who signs up, not what the product does. It is a marketing line dressed up as a result, and what these courses really add to a student is still unproven.

So the system charges the most to the students who need it least, and leaves out the ones who need it most. Educerie will not take part in any of it.

A student needs clear notes, honest questions that explain every answer, and a plan. That is where education should start, free for everyone, not the top tier of a price list.

Educerie is built by one person, and that is a strength, not a shortcut. Every note, question, page and feature passes through the same hands and the same checks, so no corner of the site was built by someone else to a lower bar.

One developer does not mean one opinion. Educerie has an advisory circle of students and teachers, and what they tell me decides what gets built and what gets fixed.

I make the final call so the site stays consistent, but the calls are made on what they tell me.

Every connection is encrypted, and the only cookie keeps you signed in. Educerie runs on Railway, password-reset emails go through Resend, and Cloudflare runs the domain and relays study-group calls.

I use AI to draft the notes and questions, and most of my time goes into checking what comes out, because a wrong answer key is worse than no question.
