Educerie Pulsar.
Pulsar is the new standard for every question on Educerie. We are rebuilding the question bank subject by subject, so that every question either teaches one idea well or meets the level of a real exam paper. It is free for every student.
Why we are rebuilding.
We tested our own exam-style questions. A separate AI reviewer was shown them mixed with real IB questions on the same topics, without being told which was which, and asked to pick out the ones we wrote.
How a question looks was not the problem. What it asked was: too many tested one idea in one step, or gave part of the answer away in the question. Pulsar changes what each question asks and how hard it makes a student think.
Two kinds of question.
Learn questions
To learn a topic and find your own mistakes.
- ✓One idea from the syllabus, asked plainly
- ✓Every wrong option is a mistake students really make
- ✓The explanation says why each option is right or wrong
Exam questions
To practise the real exam.
- ✓Asked the way the exam asks, with the same marks and command terms
- ✓Two or more ideas combined, with data or a case you have not seen
- ✓Weighted towards what real papers examine most often
Every question is checked.
- BlueprintThe syllabus points, how often real papers examine each, and real examples to match.
- WriteDrafted to the blueprint, with every number computed in code.
- Solve blindA second model answers it from the question alone, without the key.
- JudgeLearn: does it teach? Exam: does it match a real paper?
- Fix or deleteTwo chances to reach the bar. Below it, the question is removed.
A wrong answer key, or a second answer that also works, fails a question outright. The judges' notes on what went wrong are kept and given to the writer, so the same mistake is not made twice.
